Head of Global Warehouse Management (m/f/d)

About us

We are looking for a driven professional to lead the MediaMarktSaturn (MMS) global warehouse management. In this role you have the opportunity to shape the future of warehousing and make an impact on the future operational model (Blueprint). Main objective is to (re)design, implement, manage, operate and continuous optimize MMS her network distribution centers and hubs, logistics service partners and activities in the areas of receiving, storage, fulfilment, picking, packing, sorting, shipping and crosss docking. 

Your tasks

  • Planning, monitoring and managing warehousing/hubs and partners (availability,  accuracy, utilization of space, resources and equipment, productivity, inventory turnover, inventory to sales ratio, cost per order, process cycle times)
  • Analyse, develop and improve warehousing business process design that integrate different tools and partners in a consistent and agile way into the MMS IT platform
  • Detection of potential constraints on warehouse and hub (capacity) availability, review market trends, (price) developments and identify impact to the MMS warehouse/hub network and capabilities
  • Track warehouse and hub performance (KPI targets vs actual, costs) and initiate improvement actions
  • Participate in projects on behalf of warehousing e.g. investments in automation (goods to man machines, soring, packing streets) determine requirements, contract management, related technology and sprints, performance issues, complaints

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, logistics or business administration with long professional experience in the logistics sector
  • Strong understanding of the European Warehousing/Contract Logistics Market
  • Experience in leading large scale warehousing procurement and execution with third-party providers
  • Solid knowledge on tendering, contracting and implementations of warehouse and hub solutions
  • Proven ability to manage programs, projects and processes, be a team player and deliver results based upon targets
  • Performance Management: elaboration and monitoring of relevant KPIs/reports such as availability/accuracy/productivity/utilization/stock value/stock rotation/cost-order
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of the German language in speaking and writing is desired, any other language is beneficial
