Head of Global Transportation Management (m/f/d)

About us

We are looking for a driven professional to lead the MediaMarktSaturn (MMS) global end-to-end transportation management. In this role you have the opportunity to shape the future of MMS transportation and make an impact on the future operational model (Blueprint). Main objective is to (re)design, implement, manage, operate and continuous optimize MMS her transportation network, logistics service partners and activities in the areas of inbound, replenishment and last mile distribution. 

Your tasks

  • Develop transport standardised related processes that integrates suppliers, distribution centers, hub, and logistics service providers into the MMS IT platform and an end-to-end visibility tool
  • Provide guidance and standard way of working to contracted parties
  • Define data, performance (KPIs) and cost review formats
  • Define and implement rate table harmonization and lead-time agreements
  • Be responsible to build, maintain and develop transport planning and related services that deliver MMS customer promise and targets
  • Be responsible to create and maintain proper working relationship with the third-party operators

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, logistics or business administration with long professional experience in the logistics sector
  • Strong understanding of the Global and European Transportation Market (all modalities)
  • Experience in leading large scale transportation procurement and execution with third-party providers
  • Proven ability to manage programs, projects and processes, be a team player and deliver results based upon targets
  • Commercial attitude to build partnership and relations with suppliers based on trust and reliability and living general purchasing ethics
  • Performance Management: elaboration and monitoring of relevant KPIs/reports such as availability/forecast accuracy/logistic cost/stock value/stock rotation 
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of the German language in speaking and writing is desired, any other language is beneficial
