Head of Global perpetual inventory and supply chain planning (m/f/d)

About us

We are looking for a driven professional to lead the MediaMarktSaturn (MMS) global inventory and supply chain planning. Main objective is to manage demand and sales plans in order to secure product availability and optimal inventory, in line with business requirements and targets. The Head is the ‘bridge’ between the commercial Forecasting & Replenishment teams and the Logistics division and reports into the Global Vice President Logistics.

Your tasks

  • Monitoring and managing (auto-)replenishment processes, time/quantity/delivery streams, specific campaign inventory requirements, stock level targets, inventory turnover, inventory sales ratio, cost of inventory
  • Analyse, develop and improve logistics business process design that integrate different tools and partners in a consistent and agile way into the MMS SAP inventory platform
  • Detection of potential constraints on product availability and pro-active elaboration of solutions Review forecast and identify impact to the logistics network and capabilities
  • Analyse logistics units’ processes and its organization and propose optimizations
  • Track inventory performance (KPI targets vs actual) and initiate improvement actions
  • Participate in projects on behalf of logistics e.g. category management, inventory, related technology and sprints, performance issues, complaints


  • University degree in engineering, logistics or business administration with long professional experience in the logistics sector
  • Strong understanding of the European Logistics Market (all modalities)
  • Proven ability to manage programs, projects and processes, be a team player and deliver results based upon targets
  • Knowledge of SAP, forecasting tools (e.g. Relex) and warehouse management systems
  • Commercial attitude to build partnership and relations with suppliers based on trust and reliability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Performance Management: elaboration and monitoring of relevant KPIs/reports such as availability/forecast accuracy/logistic cost/stock value/stock rotation
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of the German language in speaking and writing is desired, any other language is beneficial
